As crypto prices rise dramatically in 2021, new investors are flocking in. However, how do you invest in crypto given the hundreds of crypto coins available? Here at Big Time Crypto, we recommend a simple blend of 3 coins for getting started. We will detail this portfolio, our rationale, and its performance over time below.

Recommended Crypto Investments for 2021

Below is the Big Time Crypto portfolio that we recommend for 2021.

Crypto Percentage Reasoning
Ethereum 50% Ethereum is booming for a variety of reasons. First, it powers the world of DeFi which is exploding with innovation. Second, as Ethereum 2 approaches, it will unlock new levels of performance and scale. Third, as Bitcoin's younger brother, its market cap is quite a bit smaller, allowing more room for appreciation.
Bitcoin 40% As the most-established cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is the least volatile crypto coin. Further, it's attracting institutional investment quickly, leading to its rapid price increase in 2021 so far.
Algorand 10% Algorand is a very technically advanced cryptocurrency, created by top MIT computer scientist Silvio Micali. It is a proof-of-stake coin, granting tokens regularly to those holding Algorand. Finally, it is just beginning to accumulate visibility and credibility, meaning there is a ton of upside for new investors.

The table below tracks this portfolio's performance over 2021. We started with $1000 using the ETH 50% / BTC 40% / ALGO 10% split recommended above. We began the year with .677 ETH, .017 BTC, and 279.33 ALGO.
